What VEDAUM is and the six things it will not do
The vision
That a person can know where they stand in their own life — not what will happen to them, but what this season of it is asking — and have somewhere to put that knowledge down as an act. A rhythm for a whole life: birth to death, the 2 a.m. hour and the ordinary Tuesday, in Hindi and in English, for Bharat and for anyone who wants it.
The mission
To compute the tradition honestly and teach it plainly. Every number here comes from real astronomy — Swiss Ephemeris, Lahiri ayanamsa, the same engine the published almanacs run — and every teaching names the text it came from. Where the evidence is not there, VEDAUM says so instead of filling the gap with a confident number.
And the measure of it is never engagement. Guidance withdraws as a practitioner matures: the goal is somebody who no longer needs this app to know what today asks of them.
The name
वेदौम् · VEDAUM joins two words: Veda, which is knowing, and AUM, the sound the tradition begins in and returns to. Together they say what this place is for: knowing where you stand in your own life, in the tradition's own rhythm. It is a name coined for this platform, not a word quoted from a text.
What it refuses to do
- It will never frighten you. No doom, no graha blamed for an illness, no remedy priced against a fear. Where a period is hard it names what it asks and what it favours — never a verdict.
- It will never flatter you. No invented numbers. Where the evidence is not there it says not yet revealed rather than filling the space, and every reading names its own limits.
- There are no leaderboards, no scores and no streaks. Progression is only ever against your own silence. Nothing here ranks you against another person or against last week.
- Every remedy is seva, and seva is free. Nothing is sold against a fear, and the marketplace cannot read your chart at all — not as a policy, but as a rule in the code that fails the build if it is broken.
- Your data is never sold and never analysed to advertise to you, and it is deleted in one tap, on every tier equally.
- No marriage matching under eighteen, and no purchase by a child. Child marriage is illegal, so VEDAUM never matches a minor; anything paid for a child is bought by a parent from their own account. And VEDAUM keeps no mood record for an account held by anyone under eighteen.
These are not a marketing page. Each one is enforced by a check that fails the build, and each has failed it at least once — which is the only reason to trust the list.

That list is imported by this page from the same file the pricing page promises from, so the two cannot disagree. What is paid for is depth and continuity, never a document and never relief from something.
How it computes
Every position comes from the Swiss Ephemeris on the server — never in your browser, never from a stored table — with the Lahiri ayanamsa, which is the convention the Government of India's Calendar Reform Committee adopted and most Indian panchangs still follow. Hold a day of it against the almanac you already keep. If a minute differs, it is because the two count from different sunrises, and VEDAUM names the place it counted from.
Terms, privacy and refunds

They describe what VEDAUM actually does rather than what a template says — the wall between your chart and anything sold, the separation around what you tell us about your body, deletion in one act. ⚠ A few particulars about the legal entity are still to be stated — the registered name and address, a support address, the refund window and the jurisdiction for disputes — and each page names the gap plainly instead of printing a placeholder that looks like a fact. Nothing can be bought on VEDAUM today, so no purchase is unprotected in the meantime.
