Questions people ask and the answers, including the uncomfortable ones.

Everything below is true of the platform as it stands today. Where something is not built yet, or not paid for yet, this page says so rather than describing a plan.
What is VEDAUM, in one sentence?
A Vedic intelligence platform: the panchang computed for your own place, your birth chart drawn as a circle from birth to a hundred, a practice that follows from what the chart asks, and the people of your life read beside you.
Is this astrology?
It is jyotisha, computed rather than looked up — and it is deliberately not fortune telling. VEDAUM names what a period asks of you and what it favours. It does not tell you what will happen. There is no prediction of a death, an illness, a lifespan or a marriage failing, and there never will be.
Where do the numbers come from?
Swiss Ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanamsa — the same engine the published almanacs run — computed on the server for your own coordinates and your own sunrise. Nothing is copied from a printed table, which is why the times here are right wherever you are rather than right for one city.
What does it cost?
The parts that matter are free and are meant to stay free: the daily panchang, your chart, the Life Circle, the practice and the whole library. A birth chart needs no account at all. Where something is paid — a sitting, a programme, a retreat — the price is on its own page in rupees, with nothing hidden underneath it.
Can I pay for something right now?
No. VEDAUM cannot take a payment yet — the rail is not connected. A request you send today reaches a human being as a request, and no page here calls it paid. We would rather tell you that than take a card and work it out afterwards.
Do I need an account?
Not to cast a chart or to read the day. You need one to keep anything — your circle, your practice, a day you have set aside — because keeping means storing, and storing means it has to belong to somebody.
What happens to my birth details?
They are as intimate as anything you own and are treated that way. They are never sold, never shared, and never used to decide what you are offered or what it costs — the marketplace here is built unable to see your chart at all. Deleting your account erases everything computed from them, at once, in one tap, and nothing is asked of you in return.
Do you match two charts for a marriage?
Yes, by the classical ashtakoota — eight agreements, named as textures rather than as a score, with the total printed because you would ask for it. No verdict is printed at any number. A friend, a colleague or a parent is read by tara rapport instead, which runs in both directions, because four of the eight kootas ask about a household specifically.
Will you read my child's chart?
Their chart facts, yes — a nakshatra is not a judgement and a parent is entitled to know it. A compatibility reading, a character verdict or a prediction about a child, no, and no consent changes that. A child gets to become who they are without a verdict arriving first.
Do you sell gemstones, yantras or remedies?
No. Where a stone or a rite is part of the tradition it is named with its reasoning and disarmed in the same breath. A remedy priced against a fear is the one thing this platform exists not to do, so the remedies here are acts of seva and they cost nothing.
Has a scholar checked the interpretations?
The computation is tested against anchor dates and regression fixtures. The interpretive text is still awaiting a jyotishi's review, and every page that carries such text says so on the page itself. We would rather you knew which half is which.
Does it work in Hindi?
Every screen, both ways, from the first commit — not a translation layer added later. The switch is in the footer of every page.
What if I am having a genuinely bad night?
There is a सहाय button at the corner of every screen. It opens human help, with no astrology on it at all — helplines that a person answers, checked against a government or primary source, with the number a child should call first when the account belongs to a child.
Who is behind it?
VEDAUM was founded by Arvind Yadav, who sits every परामर्श session himself. What is claimed about him on this platform is his name and that he founded it, and nothing else until he writes it himself.
