Turn a card. Answer all three rightly and this portal is sealed in your sky. New riddles every morning.
May Hanuman's strength be yours: the strength that serves, and never forgets whom it serves.
उद्धरेदात्मनात्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत् आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मनः
uddhared ātmanātmānaṁ nātmānam avasādayet / ātmaiva hy ātmano bandhur ātmaiva ripur ātmanaḥ
Its meaning
One should lift oneself up by oneself; one should not let oneself sink down. For the self alone is the friend of the self, and the self alone is the enemy of the self.
Bhagavad Gita 6.5

A gentle reminder three days before each festival and on its morning, with its timing for your city.
The Moon is full in Chaitra, the first full Moon of the year, and it lights the night completely.
Hanuman, who does not know his own strength until he is reminded of it — the tradition's most precise image of the capacity a person carries and forgets.
3 stories the day keeps. Turn each card.
Hanuman, son of Anjana and of Vayu, the wind, saw the rising Sun as a child and took it for a ripe fruit. He leapt to seize it, and Indra's thunderbolt struck his jaw. From that jaw, hanu, came his name, and the gods, seeing his father's grief, gave him their gifts.
Valmiki Ramayana, Kishkindha Kanda, as Jambavan tells it.
On the shore of the ocean, the monkey army sat in despair: no one could leap the sea to find Sita. Hanuman sat silent. Then the old bear Jambavan told him who he was and what he was born able to do. Hanuman rose, grew vast, and leapt.
Valmiki Ramayana, Kishkindha Kanda; the forgetting is told in the Uttara Kanda.
In Lanka he found Sita in the ashoka grove and gave her Rama's ring, so that she would know she had not been forgotten. All his strength was spent in the service of that one message: you are remembered, help is coming.
Valmiki Ramayana, Sundara Kanda.
4 days kept as one season. Each has its own page.
The year begins: the gudi raised, bitter and sweet together.
4 April 2076Nine spring nights of the Devi, one discipline kept.
4 April 2076Rama born at noon; the promise kept at its cost.
12 April 2076The first full Moon; strength remembered and given away.
You are hereOften said
Hanuman is worshipped to keep away the harm of Shani.
The root
No graha is an enemy to be feared. Hanuman is honoured for his strength placed at the service of others, for his humility and his devotion. Worship him to become like him, strong for someone else.
Free acts, done by you. Kept so far this year: 0 of 3.
Use your strength for someone weaker today: carry the load of an elder, help someone up the stairs, do the heavy task without being asked.
Learn by heart one doha or one chaupai of the Hanuman Chalisa, and know what it means.
Read the leap across the ocean in the Sundara Kanda, or Jambavan's words to Hanuman just before it.
Each act is free and done by you. Keeping one writes it to your karma ledger with the day's panchang. Nothing here is ever bought, and no act is a remedy.
The youngest
Hears the story of the child who leapt for the Sun, and says one thing they are strong enough to do for someone else.
The eldest
Leads the Hanuman Chalisa, or tells what Hanuman meant in their own life.
Everyone
Each person reminds another of a strength they have seen in them, the way Jambavan reminded Hanuman.
North and Central India
Kept on the full Moon of Chaitra: temples offer sindoor and oil to Hanuman, and the Chalisa is recited through the day.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
A forty one day observance begins on the full Moon of Chaitra and is completed in Vaishakha, on the tenth day of the dark half.
Tamil Nadu
Hanumath Jayanthi is kept in the month of Margazhi, and great temples offer Hanuman garlands of vadai and of betel leaves.
Karnataka
Hanuman Vrata is kept in Margashirsha, on the thirteenth day of the bright half.
The day is chosen by the moment the tradition reads its tithi at, and the times are that day's own, computed for this city. A festival-specific puja window is not printed: those rules differ by tradition and await a scholar's review.
The stories, their sources and the regional customs on this page await a scholar's review. The sky and the dates are computed for your city.
