Three questions to seal this door

  1. 1. How many nakshatras does Jyotisha use?

  2. 2. Each nakshatra spans —

  3. 3. Which graha is lord of Ashwini?

The rishi's scroll — read more, if you wish

The Moon crosses the whole sky in about 27 days, and the rishis gave it 27 mansions: the nakshatras, each 13°20′ wide. Where a rashi is a room, a nakshatra is the corner of it you are sitting in.

Each nakshatra has a devata who presides over it, a symbol, and a lord — and that lord matters enormously: the nakshatra the Moon held at your birth decides which dasha your life began in (door seven).

Each nakshatra is split into four padas of 3°20′, and each pada gives a sacred syllable — the akshara families still use to name a child. Your own star is waiting in the nakshatra tool, one tap below.
